Spider Kitten
Kitten stage is full of energy, to the point of being wild. Our female persian kitten, Moo Moo, loves to climb. She climbs up cat tree posts, swings on curtains, and even scales up our legs sometimes (youch!) to sit on our laps. But her favorite is climbing up window screens and curtains. She does that almost everyday. Maybe this is one reason why most hotels don't allow cats to stay ;P

You seem to have several kittens with flat faces, so I'm sure you have the same issue I do with my flat faced kitten: leaky eyes. What do you do/use to clear the crusties?
ReplyDeletewow, you really have a naughty girl in the house. Will she not cause a lot of damages on the curtains, window screens?
ReplyDeleteso cute..Spider cat Moo Moo.
ReplyDeleteOMG what a naughty little booger! She's like this fluffy little bug, crawling up the curtains and screen. So cute!
ReplyDeleteKelsey -- I have 2 flat-faces. The goop and crusties are just a part of having flat-faced Persians. It requires daily cleaning, usually in the same session when you brush your kitty, and the occasional wipe with a tissue to wipe away excess tears and goop before they dry into crust.
ReplyDeleteTo remove the crust, this is what I do:
1) take a few soft cotton washcloths and cut them into 4 squares.
2) Use the squares to clean kitty's face. Get the square soaked with very warm water and carefully drizzle water around your kitties eyes, to saturate the crust -- and here's the key -- saturate the crust WITHOUT letting any water get into kitty's nose. Let the water sit on the crusted fur for about 30 seconds.
3) Wring out excess water from the washcloth square, then wipe away the moistened crust from around the eye. Gentle, gentle, gentle. Sometimes you may need to carefully remove the crust with your finger nail.
4) You will need to rinse the crust out of the washcloth square a few times, as you remove the crust from kitty's eyes.
5) When the crust is all removed, firmly but gently press a clean, dry tissue to daub up excess moisture from kitty's face.
6) Wash the square with antibacterial soap, rinse thoroughly, and hang to dry. You can toss the used square in the washing machine, but still rinse and wash it thoroughly by hand at the end of your eye-cleaning session. Otherwise the residual crust will stain the square.
7) You can get a prescription from your vet for Neo-Poly-Dex eye drops, to reduce the chances for infection of eyes in a Persian with chronically goopy eyes, but it does have side effects. I used to use it for my cat Pansy, but stopped using it a few years ago. I just keep on top of her eye goop with daily eye-washing and periodic Kleenex wipes, especially after she's woken up from a nap.
Hehe.. she is so cute and notti!!
ReplyDeleteMoo Moo is very cute girl. Our family is your boys' and girls' fan and watcher forever. Thank you very, very much for sharing all these moments, which give people so many smiles.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that my English is bad and I can't say everything what I feel.
